2020 Be Like!

Why is everyone lookin at 2020 like…

Let me ask you:

Is 2020 a bigger year? A more important year? Are the stakes higher?

That’s small ball y’all…

Saying yes, that 2020 is more important than any other year, is a mindset that will ultimately handicap long term progress.

What if we showed up to this year with the mindset: “I will do whatever it takes, however long it takes, to evolve.” Instead of trying to make up for lost ground all in one go? Did I strike a nerve yet?

Example:

If I decided to make year 2020 the focal point of some shiny new goal, yet failed to see my own responsibility in creating the life I desire, then nothing will change. We MUST realize that working on ourself is the most important metric in terms of realizing and actualizing our desired life.

So if you want your 2020 to live up to the (your own) hype, are YOU ready to change? Do you understand what that means?

I ask sincerely, because I used to ‘think’ I understood ‘all the things about change’ and that got me nowhere fast, for years. I realized that thinking and understanding things at an intellectual level, sadly, is not enough to translate into manifesting the desired result.

Most people repeat, repeat, repeat because they are honestly missing the tools, guidance, and support to change a pattern. A change in behavior once might change an outcome once. However, a consistent change of behavior will create a new pattern and that will change a lifetime. I experienced this for the first time when I was immersed in a community where everyone else was also working to better themselves.

So if you want your 2020 to live up to the (your own) hype, are YOU ready to change? Do you understand what that means?

I ask sincerely (twice) because, it has taken me years (still counting) of study, personal practice, and working with others to understand the mechanics of creating meaningful and sustainable changes to mindset and behavior, which together will produce our experience of life.

I used to bang my head up against wall, opting for the quick and seemingly easy (think magazine cover) changes: weight loss, fitness “hacks”, job satisfaction - all of the above. And thank goodness I have, because at some point enough was enough and the continual self sabotage compelled me to find another way. Ultimately - self love.

The pursuit of purposeful living is not for the faint of heart - I would say with confidence - by the very virtue of having to walk right into the ALL that life presents us, so that we may understand ourselves well enough to choose our path again and again.

I LIVE to hone my ability to skilfully direct my focus toward long term sustainable change. And if you want help, I am able to support you! Because I’ve been there and it’s my job (chosen profession) to help others navigate their human “situation” - you know what I mean ;)

Enjoy some practical and useful questions to better understand conscious change and the subsequent outcome i.e. Understanding GOALS

Take some time, and a few deep breaths to contemplate and write down your thoughts.

1. If I choose to go from point A to point B, what are the clearest and most accurate ways to describe points A and B?

2. WTF is so special about point B? WHYYY do I want it? (ask yourself this several times and write it down)

3. What am I doing CONSISTENTLY that makes point A my current reality? Am I able to fully accept point A as my current reality? If not, what can I do to first accept where I am now?

4. Do I know anyone who is ROCKING the SH*T out of point B? If so, learn what they’re doing! Be willing to receive and try advice, support, coaching! Remember that your best effort (up to now) landed you squarely at point A. Humble yourself.

5. What can I do differently and CONSISTENTLY to take steps toward point B? Here’s your “practice”. You might suck at first… Be willing to suck :)

6. How will I interact with the inevitable obstacles? What could that look like? No. 7 is important for this too.

7. What perspective(s) would allow me to consistently work toward point B while letting go of ego’s attachment to an outcome?

I’ll wrap this up by saying this: Evolving ourselves out of our deeply conditioned patterns of self sabotage requires a lot of self love, patience and mother fu*kin tenacity. What you have to offer the world is so much bigger than 2020. Get into LIFETIME mode. And enjoy every minute of this very human experience.
